Sanctuary Volunteering – Arnhem

VSA Utrecht and Wageningen are organising a sanctuary visit to Red een Legkip at the start of summer!
Red een Legkip (translates to Save a Laying Hen) is an organisation that saves industry laying hens who are about to be sent to slaughter. They nurse them back to good health so they can be adopted!
They have many locations in and around the Netherlands. We will be visiting the one in Arnhem, managed by Sophie, a VSA Wageningen member! The address will be shared with people who signed up.
We will learn how the sanctuary works, and help with building some enriching structures for the chickens to play with! Make sure to wear practical clothes that can get dirty.
For lunch we will have a potluck together! After all the hard work there is also some time to relax. Bring your swimming clothes if you want to use the sauna and hottub!
